Pilkington Buildings, Penicuik

Pilkington Building was a contract undertaken under the CARS scheme for Penicuik, Midlothian. The external stone elevations and chimneys were thoroughly inspected, and the works carried out comprised of isolated lime repairs as well as natural stone replacement and complete repointing to the elevations instructed. All slated slopes identified were stripped and reslated in the existing Welsh and second-hand supplied slates to match as instructed. Extensive repairs/replacements were carried out to the windows and doors where identified and all external timber finishes painted on completion.
